We are thrilled to announce that SCM will hold its first international marimba competition on May 31-June 2, 2019 at Chapman University’s Salmon Recital Hall (One University Dr., Orange, CA 92866).
The 2019 International Artist Competition aims to bring people together and provide an educational experience within a competitive setting. Our mission is to discover promising young artists and help them launch their career in music.
There will be 3 competitive categories:
- Scholastic Solo (grades 6-12 at the time of application)
1st Prize: $500 + merchandise from our sponsors
2nd Prize: $250 + merchandise from our sponsors
3rd Prize: merchandise from our sponsors
- Collegiate Solo (ages 18-30 at the time of application)
1st Prize: $1000 + merchandise from our sponsors
2nd Prize: $500 + merchandise from our sponsors
3rd Prize: merchandise from our sponsors
- Open Duo (for all ages): marimba + any other instrument
1st Prize: $1000 + merchandise from our sponsors
2nd Prize: merchandise from our sponsors
